Ballet dance is the basis of all forms of dance, which is why EDS places so much emphasis on proper ballet training. Ballet technique provides the foundation for the student to integrate other styles of dance into their bodies.
We proudly promote the Vaganova method, a ballet technique and training system devised by the Russian dancer and pedagogue Agrippina Vaganova. It combines traditional style with athleticism and virtuosity.
EDS provides that with classical ballet, pointe work, and variations class where students in the upper levels have the opportunity to learn classical pieces from the most famous ballets, such as Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, New York City Ballet/Balanchine pieces, and more.
Often times, students say they find ballet to be “too slow” or “boring”. However, at EDS, we keep our ballet classes fun, informative, creative, and energetic at all ages and levels, especially at the younger levels.
